A paintbrush having an adjustable brush head which allows for various positioning of the head with respect to the handle. The paintbrush comprises a wedge-shaped tilt element positioned between the head and the handle. The body and the wedge-shaped tilt element can rotate with respect to one another. The wedge-shaped tilt element and the handle can rotate with respect to one another. The handle, the wedge-shaped tilt element and the body are removably secured against one another by a connecting member, such as a nut and bolt assembly passing through apertures which extend through the handle, the wedge- shaped tilt element and the body. Interlocking protrusions may be provided to assist in the handle, the wedge-shaped tilt element and the body being removably secured against one another.
