A pallet (10) for use with a fork lift includes a top deck (12), a mid-top member (30) and a base. The top deck (12) has a plurality of ribs (46) extending downwardly and a plurality of column-receiving recesses (50) formed on the underside thereof. The base (18) includes a plurality of columns (20) projecting substantially vertically and received within the recesses (50) of the top deck (12). Snap-tabs (54) secure the columns (20) to the deck (12). A generally planar mid-top member (30) is secured to the plurality of ribs (46) on the deck and has a plurality of openings (34) into which are received the plurality of columns (20). The mid-top member (30) is sandwiched between the ribs of the top deck (12) and shoulders (42) formed on the outer periphery of the columns.
