A pan chiller system (10) including a refrigeration package having a condensing unit (16), a heat exchanger (16) and a pump (18) for circulating a chilled liquid coolant, a pan chiller unit (20) in communication with the refrigeration package and having an outer housing (24) and a food well (26) received within the outer housing and a plurality of hollow divider bars (30) arranged within the food well and an opening (32) is defined between adjacent divider bars, wherein each divider bar is configured for directly receiving the liquid coolant chilled and circulated by the refrigeration package.
