- 19 - ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A panel structure with a pair of panels each having therein a hollow space and arranged with juxtaposed edge regions, openings being provided in the edge regions which form connections between the hollow spaces in the two panels and airtight seals extending around the connections between the openings. The hollow spaces in the panels are airtight except to the openings and a pump connection and the panels are secured to one another by the use of a partial vacuum in the hollow spaces.
