A panel testing device, and a method of its use, for flexing and measuring mechanical properties of a panel are provided comprising a panel bending assembly operable to engage a panel and impart a bending force on the engaged panel, and a linear actuator having an output shaft coupled to the panel bending assembly, wherein the output shaft is operable to be movable relative to the panel bending assembly continuously at a constant rate of linear motion regardless of the torque force resisting such motion at the panel testing assembly.

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'essai de panneaux et son procédé d'utilisation permettant de cintrer et de mesurer les propriétés mécaniques d'un panneau. Ce dispositif comprend un ensemble de cintrage de panneaux conçu pour venir en contact avec un panneau et appliquer une force de cintrage sur ledit panneau et un actionneur linéaire comprenant un arbre de sortie couplé à l'ensemble de cintrage. L'arbre de sortie peut être déplacé de façon continue par rapport à l'ensemble de cintrage à une vitesse constante de mouvement linéaire et ce, quel que soit le couple résistant à ce mouvement au niveau de l'ensemble d'essai de panneaux.
