PANEL PLUG ABSTRACT A panel plug comprises a planar body, an angled flange, and retaining leg elements. The leg elements comprise four segments in series. A first segment extends away from the body; a second segment extends generally radially outwardly and away from the body to a distance sufficient to snugly engage the aperture in the automotive body when the panel is mounted therein; a third segment extends generally radially inwardly and away from the body at an angle of about 35-45 degrees from a line perpendicular to the body; and a fourth segment extends generally radially inwardly and towards or parallel to the body.
