A pants-type wearing article having a connection member with increased strength. Front and rear waist regions (6, 7) of the pants-type wearing article (1) are connected to each other using connection means (14a, 14b) that can be separated and rejoined. The connection means (14a, 14b) has a support member (20) folded into either a Z shape or a reversed Z shape when the front and rear waist regions (6, 7) are superposed over each other and also has a fastener member (21). The support member (20) has a top side (61), a bottom side (62), and an intermediate side (63) for connecting the top and bottom sides, and these sides form the Z shape. A sheet like backing section (43) is provided on opposite surfaces of the bottom side (62) and intermediate side (63), and the backing section (43) extends along the opposite surfaces, from a bottom opening end (69) of the bottom side (62) toward a top joint end (66) of the top side (61). The top side (61) is joined to the intermediate side (63) with a first joint region (51) in between them, and the backing section (43) is joined to both the bottom side (62) and the intermediate side (63) with a second joint region (52) in between them. In the support member (20), the first joint region (51) and second joint region (52) are superposed over each other in the direction of the height of the Z shape with the intermediate side (63) in between them.
