A paper core turnup apparatus for wrapping a web of paper about a core at high speeds includes a cylindrical core (4) and a plurality of double sided adhesive tape strips (10, 12, 14). Each of the tape strips extends axially along an outer surface of the core, and is spaced from adjacent tape strips a predeterminded distance. In a preferred embodiment, adjacent strips are circumferentially spaced approximately 12" from one another.

L'invention concerne un appareil d'enroulement de papier autour d'un mandrin de carton conçu pour enrouler une bande de papier autour d'un mandrin à des vitesses élevées. Cet appareil comprend un mandrin cylindrique (4) et une multitude de bandes adhésives double face (10, 12, 14). Chacune des bandes adhésives s'étend de manière axiale le long d'une surface extérieure du mandrin et elle est espacée à une distance prédéterminée des bandes adhésives adjacentes. Dans un mode de réalisation optimal, les bandes adjacentes sont espacées de manière circonférentielle d'environ 12" les unes des autres.
