A paper for a newspaper characterized in that it has a basis weight of 35 to 45 g/m2 and an average pure bending rigidity in the transverse direction after humidity conditioning at 23~C, 50 % RH of 1 to 11 µ N.bullet. m2/m. The paper preferably has a pH of 5 to 9.5 as measured by a test method for the pH of paper according to a cold water extraction method defined in JIS P8113. The above paper is free from the occurrence of clogging at bayonet point parts in cutting and folding facilities for printed newspaper sheets and exhibits excellent operability in the printing process of a newspaper.

L'invention concerne un papier journal caractérisé en ce qu'il possède un grammage compris entre 35 et 45 g/m?2¿ et une rigidité à la flexion simple moyenne, dans le sens transversal, après conditionnement en atmosphère humide à 23 ·C, 50 % HR, comprise entre 1 et 11 µN . m?2¿/m. Ledit papier a, de préférence, un pH compris entre 5 et 9,5, tel que mesuré par un procédé de test du pH du papier réalisé selon le procédé d'extraction à l'eau froide défini dans la norme JIS P8113. Le papier précité, qui ne bourre pas au niveau de parties terminales du type baïonnette des installations de coupe et de pliage destinées aux feuilles de journal imprimées, présente une excellente exploitabilité dans le procédé d'impression d'un journal.
