PAPER HANDLING SYSTEM Abstract A paper handling system for printing or scanning operations which requires only a single motor for loading individual sheets of paper, escapement of a printing or scanning carrier relative to a plurality of parallel paths on the paper, and stacking the paper after printing or scanning. A leading edge of an individual page is mounted to a drum with this leading edge skewed relative to the axis of the drum. In this manner continuous indexing escapement of a printing or scanning transducer is coordinated with drum rotation to print or scan a series of lines parallel to a pair of opposite edges o. the rectangular page of paper.
