PAPER SHEET DEFLECTING SYSTEM FOR SORTER MECHANISM Abstract of the Disclosure Paper sheet deflecting system for a continuous paper sorting machine having a receiver which is comprised of at least two columns of inclined side-by-side stacks of paper storage bins or shelves with entrances for receiving paper sheets from a reversible feeder conveyor. The receiver is mounted on track means for lateral movement relative to its feeder mechanism, such that the bin entrances move past the feeder and present a particular bin address to a particular deflector and deflector guide position. The paper sheets can be deflected off the feeder conveyor to a predetermined bin address whether they are moving down the conveyor, from the top or up the con- veyor from the bottom.
