ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A paper sizing composition comprises an aqueous dispersion of an alkyl ketene dimer which also incorporates urea, thiourea, or a derivative thereof. The incorporation of the urea, thiourea or derivative thereof in the dispersion allows the amount of alkyl ketene dimer to be reduced, thereby reducing the cost of the sizing composition, without loss of sizing performance.
