ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A combination paper tape punch and reader having a bi-directional stepping tape transport controlled by a contin- uously oscillating magnetically activated pawl. A further improvement is a punch interposer geometry allowing for easy removal of the punch and die. A single motor and timing signal is used for both punch and reader tape transports.
