ABSTRACT Apparatus for retaining a stub roll in a desired location within a paper towel dispenser. The stub roll is retained in a trough means including a sloping support plate. The ends of the stub roll engage abutment members which exert a downwardly directed force on the rotating stub roll during dispensing of toweling therefrom.
