Apparatus for dispensing paper toweling includes a rotatable toweling support roller (22) and a cutter blade (52) pivotally mounted on the outer peripheral portion of the roller. The blade is movable between a first position (Fig. 6) in which the cutting edge of the blade is positioned closely adjacento to the outer peripheral portion and a second position (Fig.9) in which the blade is disposed at an angle relative to the outer peripheral portion with the cutting edge of the blade spaced from the toweling support roller. the cutter blade when in the second position projects in a direction generally opposed to the direction of rotation of the toweling support roller so that pulling force exerted on the toweling (12) by a user will bear against the cutting edge of the cutter blade to sever the towelling.

L'invention concerne un appareil de distribution de papier serviette comprenant un tambour support de serviette rotatif (22) et une lame coupante (52) montée pivotante sur la partie périphérique extérieure du tambour. La lame peut être déplacée d'une première position (Fig. 6), dans laquelle le bord coupant de la lame est positionné adjacent à la partie périphérique extérieure, à une seconde position (Fig.9), dans laquelle la lame fait un angle avec la partie périphérique extérieure, le bord coupant de la lame étant éloigné du tambour support de serviette.
