A method of making reinforced paperboard cartons comprises the steps of advancing a web of paperboard (17) along a path (15) and progressively laminating at least one ribbon (21) of reinforcing material to the advancing web of paperboard (17). The ribbon of reinforcing material (21) has a width less than the width of the web of paperboard (17) and is applied with adhesive at a selected location (28) across the width of the web. The web (17) and laminated ribbon (21) are cut into sheets (39) of a predetermined size and the sheets are die-cut and scored with fold lines to form carton blanks. Carton blanks (51) formed into cartons may consist of multiple reinforcing ribbons (21) and/or multiple layers of reinforcing ribbons (21).
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un boîte pliante en carton consistant à faire avancer une bande de carton (17) le long d'un chemin (15) et à stratifier progressivement au moins un ruban (21) d'un matériau de renfort sur la bande de carton qui avance. Ce ruban de matériau de renfort (21), dont la largeur est inférieure à celle de la bande de carton (17), est appliqué à une position sélectionnée (28) avec un adhésif, et ce sur la totalité de la largeur de la bande. On coupe ensuite la bande (17) et le ruban stratifié (21) en feuilles (39) de dimensions déterminées, ces feuilles étant par la suite coupées à la forme et rainées par des lignes de pliage en vue de l'obtention de découpes de carton. Les découpes de carton (51) formant des boîtes pliantes peuvent être constituées de plusieurs rubans de renfort (21) et/ou de plusieurs couches de ces rubans (21).
