A seam construction for a papermakers fabric in which mating seam components are molded onto opposite ends of the fabric without increasing the caliper of the fabric. The seam is assembled by matingly engaging the seam components molded onto the respective fabric ends. Preferably, the seam components are male and female and become positively locked when the seam ends are joined together.

Joint pour toile de papetier dans lequel des composantes d'accouplement sont moulées sur les extrémités opposées de la toile sans que son épaisseur ne soit augmentée. Pour assembler le joint, on accouple les composantes moulées sur les extrémités respectives de la toile. Les composantes du joint sont de préférence mâle et femelle et forment un verrouillage positif quand les extrémités de joint sont engagées l'une dans l'autre.
