In rope construction, it is accepted practice to twist and weave fibers together in a tensile loss pattern which holds the fiber and component cords together by friction. In cord link rope the component cords are linked together by separate elastic spot adhesives allowing longitude elastic bending of parallel cords producing greater tensile rope strength.
