Each of a plurality of substrate carriers (90) is capable of sequential contact with the contents of a plurality of the reagent chambers (40, 42, 44, and 46). The sequential contact is capable of resulting in the sequential modification of molecules attached to solid phase supports on the plurality of substrate carriers (90).
