A parasitology stain composition and method enables the preparation of stained specimens of comparable quality and differentiation as available with prior art staining protocols, but with a simple staining composition and technique. The present method uses at least two of the dyes selected from the group consisting of Chlorazol Black E, Fast Green FCF and May-Grunwald stain, in combination, and preferably uses all three dyes to stain parasites for diagnostic examination. The use of these combined dyes in a laboratory stain composition and method is easy and simple, and requires a minimum of time and attention in the laboratory.
