Disclosed herein are parenteral solutions containing 3-dialkylaminoethoxybenzoyl-benzofurans in acetate buffer useful in the treatment of arrhythmias. Also disclosed are 3-dialkylaminoethoxybenzoyl-benzofuran acetate salts. The compounds have the general formula: (see formula I) wherein R1 is straight or branched chain alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen or straight chain alkyl having 1-3 carbon atoms, NR3R4 is dimethylamino, diethylamino, dipropylamino, piperidino, pyrrolidino or morpholino, and Y and Y1 are the same or different and represent hydrogen, iodo- or bromo-.
