ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides an arrangement for blocking a parking space against unauthorized use. The arrangement includes a blocking member, a mounting system for mounting the blocking member at the parking space in a manner such that the blocking member is moveable from an upright position to a generally prone access position and a locking member for releasably locking the blocking member in the upright blocking position. The blocking member has a spring portion which permits collapsing in the event of undue force on the member which might otherwise damage the arrangement.
