A method of partially imaging an imaging surface of a substrate (50) with a plurality of layers of marking material (10) which have at least one common boundary within a print pattern that covers only certain portions of the substrate and not other portions of the substrate. The method includes applying initial superimposed layers of marking material (10) to a base layer (23) and removing portions of the initial superimposed layers of marking material and leaving the desired residual layer portions in the desired print pattern directly applied to the imaging surface of the substrate. The method typically includes the transfer of marking material onto the imaging surface of the substrate. The method has many variants, which can be used to make one-way or other vision control panels, typically using a ceramic ink decal carrier to image a glass sheet with ceramic ink that is then fused onto the glass, which is optionally tempered, in a suitable furnace. Other uses include security printing, seals and labels and a variety of display panels.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'imagerie partielle d'une surface d'imagerie d'un substrat (50) avec une pluralité de couches de matière de marquage (10) ayant au moins une limite commune à l'intérieur d'un motif d'impression ne recouvrant que certaines parties du substrat et pas d'autres parties dudit substrat. Le procédé consiste à appliquer des couches initiales superposées de matière de marquage (10) sur une couche de base (23) et à éliminer certaines parties des couches superposées initiales de matière de marquage, puis à laisser les parties des couches résiduelles voulues dans le motif d'impression désiré directement appliquées sur la surface d'imagerie du substrat. Le procédé consiste typiquement en un transfert de matière de marquage sur la surface d'imagerie du substrat. Le procédé présente de nombreuses variantes pouvant être utilisées pour produire des panneaux de modification de la vision unidirectionnelle ou autre, utilisant typiquement un support de décalcomanie pour produire une image sur une feuille de verre avec une encre céramique laquelle est ensuite fusionnée sur le verre, lequel est facultativement trempé, dans un four approprié. On peut citer parmi d'autres utilisations l'impression de sécurité, les sceaux et les étiquettes ainsi qu'une variété de panneaux d'affichage.
