Apparatus for separation of particles from a fluid stream entraining said particles comprises an inlet zone, a centrifugal separation zone, particles collection means and exhaust means, in which the inlet and separation zones are in communication via a transition zone for inducing vortical flow in the fluid stream, the transition zone having a diameter greater than the diameter of the inlet zone and comprising means defining an outlet port to the separation zone, an entry port being formed in the transition zone upstream of the baffle means, the entry and outlet ports being mutually arranged to minimise fluid perturbation in the fluid stream in use.
L'invention concerne un appareil de séparation de particules d'un flux de fluide entraînant lesdites particules, comprenant une zone d'entrée, une zone de séparation centrifuge, des moyens de collecte et d'évacuation de particules, les zones d'entrée et de séparation étant en communication grâce à une zone de transition créant un écoulement tourbillonnaire dans le flux de fluide, la zone de transition ayant un diamètre supérieur au diamètre de la zone d'entrée et comprenant des moyens définissant un port de sortie vers la zone de séparation, un port d'entrée étant formé dans la zone de transition en amont du moyen de dissipation d'énergie, les ports d'entrée et de sortie étant positionnés mutuellement pour minimiser la perturbation du fluide dans le flux de fluide utilisé.
