A particulate therapeutic agent delivery device (10) and method are disclosed. In an embodiment of the device there is a respiratory-gas channel (13) having a patient end (16) to which a patient may be pneumatically connected, a particulate-~therapeutic-agent channel (19) in pneumatic communication with the respiratory-gas channel, a scrubber housing (22) in pneumatic communication with the respiratory-gas channel, the scrubber housing having an expired-gas orifice (25) for receiving expired gas from the respiratory-gas- channel, and a scrubber material (26) situated within the housing so as to receive expired gas via the expired-gas orifice and remove carbon dioxide from the expired gas to provide treated gas, and situated so as to provide the treated gas to the respiratory-gas channel.
La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé pour administrer un agent thérapeutique particulaire. Dans un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, le dispositif comprend un canal de gaz de respiration qui présente une extrémité patient, à laquelle un patient peut être relié de manière pneumatique, un canal d'agent thérapeutique particulaire, qui est en communication pneumatique avec ledit canal de gaz de respiration, un boîtier d'épurateur, qui est en communication pneumatique avec ledit canal de gaz de respiration et qui présente un orifice de gaz expiré, conçu pour recevoir du gaz expiré provenant du canal de gaz de respiration, ainsi qu'un matériau épurateur, qui est situé dans le boîtier de façon à recevoir du gaz expiré par l'intermédiaire de l'orifice de gaz expiré et à éliminer le dioxyde de carbone du gaz expiré, afin d'obtenir du gaz traité et qui est placé de façon à fournir le gaz traité au canal de gaz de respiration. Le procédé selon cette invention consiste à équiper un patient d'un appareil respiratoire, à fournir un agent thérapeutique particulaire à l'appareil respiratoire, à mettre un épurateur de dioxyde de carbone en communication pneumatique avec l'appareil respiratoire, à faire passer du gaz expiré de l'appareil respiratoire à l'épurateur, à le faire traverser l'épurateur afin d'obtenir du gaz traité, puis à fournir le gaz traité à l'appareil respiratoire.
