A partition control assembly (38) within a continuous-motion automatic packaging machine (2) receives and controls the motion of partitions which are ejected at high speeds from a partition ejection mechanism (50) for insertion between preconfigured groups of articles processed on a flight conveyor (4) in the machine. The partition control assembly includes a first member (58) having a contoured guiding surface (62) for receiving a leading edge of the partition and for guiding the partition into a lateral, downward direction with respect to the partition ejector. Disposed opposite the first member is a second member (56) which includes a control surface (60) disposed opposite the contoured guiding surface, creating an interior control space between the control and contoured guiding surface. The control surface receives the partition upon lateral translation thereof, terminates lateral translation of the partition, and includes an inverted ledge (64) for engaging a top edge of the partition to prevent the partition from recoiling upwardly from within the plurality of preconfigured articles after the partition contacts the flight conveyor.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif (38) de mise en place de séparations, intégré à une installation automatique (2) d'emballage en continu, qui reçoit des séparations et en commande le déplacement alors qu'elles sont éjectées à grande vitesse par un mécanisme d'éjection (50) en vue de leur insertion entre des groupes d'articles préconfigurés conditionnés sur un transporteur à raclettes (4) faisant partie de l'installation. Le dispositif de mise en place des séparations comporte un premier élément (58) présentant une surface de guidage incurvée (62) recevant le bord d'attaque d'une séparation et le guidant latéralement et vers l'aval par rapport à l'éjecteur de séparations. Opposé au premier élément se trouve un deuxième élément (56) comportant une surface de commande (60) faisant face à la surface de guidage incurvée ce qui crée un espace intérieur entre les deux susdites surfaces. La surface de commande qui reçoit la séparation lors de sa translation latérale et achève ladite translation et comporte une butée inversée (64) entrant en contact avec le bord supérieur de la séparation (64) pour l'empêcher de reculer vers le haut et de quitter sa position entre les groupes d'articles préconfigurés après que la séparation ait atteint le transporteur à raclettes.
