PARTYLINE SUBSCRIBER INTERFACE CIRCUIT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A station set interface circuit for connection to a multi-party line including a circuit for prohibiting connection of a party line subscriber's set to the party line in the event it goes off hook while the line is in use, and at the same time sending busy tone to the subscriber's set indicating that the line is in use. A hookswitch flash by the subscriber signifying a desire to interrupt causes the circuit to connect the subscriber's set to the party line for a predetermined period, while applying a short warning tone to the party line for transmission to the parties of the call in progress at the beginning and end of the period. Any of the station sets connected to the party line can be disconnected from or reconnected to the line and the circuit will respectively ignore or honor requests for service to and from its associated station set upon reception by the circuit of a ringing code uniquely identifying that particular station set relative to others connected to the partyline, and a predetermined disconnect or reconnect ringing signal. The identifying ringing code is also used for ringing only the particular station set being rung, as recognized by the circuit associated with the particular station set.
