The invention relates to a body comprising fullerenes wherein the fullerenes arecovered by at least one oxygen-impermeable layer. The invention also relates to a process for passivating such bodies by coating the bodies with an oxygen- impermeable material. One advantage of the invention is that the oxygen sensitivity of the fullerenes no longer plays a role and that this makes the fullerenes more readily utilizable industrially, among other things in superconduction and optoelectronics.
