A passive motion exercise and/or treatment apparatus is provided which includes a main support assembly (10) for supporting at least part of the body of a user of the apparatus. The assembly includes a first support member (14) and a second support member (26) disposed in a common plane. The second support member (26) is pivotably connected to the main support member (14) and is movable relative thereto so as to provide passive movement of a part of the body of a user supported by the second support member (26) relative to a part of the body supported by the first support member. A separable leg support assembly (36) is adapted to be connected, in use, to the main support assembly at either end so as to support the calves of the legs of the user in a plane parallel to, and elevated with respect to, the common plane while the apparatus provides the passive body movement referred to above. A motorized drive arrangement is used to provide the aforementioned relative movement of the second support member (26).
L'invention concerne un appareil de traitement et/ou d'exercice permettant d'effectuer des mouvements passifs, lequel comprend un ensemble support principal devant soutenir au moins une partie du corps de l'utilisateur. Cet ensemble comprend un premier élément de support et un second élément de support placés sur un plan commun. Le second élément de support est relié pivotant à l'élément de support principal par rapport auquel il pivote pour soumettre à un mouvement passif la partie du corps de l'utilisateur, qui est soutenue par le premier élément de support, par rapport à la partie du corps qui est soutenue par le premier élément de support. Un ensemble de support de jambes amovible est conçu pour être relié, pendant l'utilisation, à l'ensemble support principal par les deux extrémités, de façon à soutenir les mollets de l'utilisateur dans un plan parallèle au plan commun et dans une position élevée par rapport à ce même plan pendant l'application de l'exercice passif par ledit appareil. Un dispositif de commande motorisé est utilisé pour effectuer le mouvement relatif du second élément de support.
