Electromyogram, temperature and heart rate measurement which correlate to the dermatome level, and density of neural blokade are obtained in a passive manner, i.e., the patient is not stimulated, or exposed to any sensor that requires an active conduction in order to make a measurement. No active patient participation or response is required. The measurements obtained provide objective and quantitative indications of, for example, epidural blockade with local anesthetics thus allowing objective real time assessment of density, and level of neural blockade.

Selon cette invention, les mesures d'un électromyogramme, de la température et de la fréquence cardiaque (Fig. 1b) qui révèlent le niveau de dermatomes et la densité d'un blocage neuronal sont obtenues de manière passive, par exemple, le patient n'est pas stimulé ou soumis à un capteur dont les mesures dépendent d'une conduction active. Aucune participation ou réponse active du patient n'est requise. Les mesures obtenues fournissent des indications objectives et quantitatives concernant, par exemple, un blocage épidural avec anesthésiques locaux, ce qui permet d'obtenir une évaluation en temps réel objective de la densité et du niveau du blocage neuronal.
