An ERT (Encoder, Receiver, Transmitter) for monitoring the consumption of a metered commodity and having an ERT transmitter for transmitting a signal related to commodity consumption, the ERT transmitter being disposed internally in an ERT housing, the ERT housing providing for the transmission of RF energy therethrough includes a passive radiator being disposed external to the ERT housing and being communicatively, capacitively coupled to the ERT transmitter and receiving RF wireless communications from the ERT transmitter for wireless transmission. A passive radiator includes a radiator device being disposed spaced apart from an ERT antenna and being communicatively, capacitively coupled to the ERT antenna for enhancing the reception and transmission of RF wireless communications by an ERT transmitter/receiver. A method of enhancing transmission and reception of wireless RF energy communications, the communications being related to commodity usage includes the steps of: providing a transmitter/receiver; disposing a passiveradiator proximate the transmitter/receiver and physically spaced apart threrefrom; capacitively coupling a passive radiator to the transmitter/receiver; and receiving and transmitting wireless RF energy by the transmitter/receiver via the capacitively coupled passive radiator.
L'invention concerne un ensemble ERT (Encoder, Receiver, Transmitter) capable de surveiller la consommation d'utilités vendues au compteur et pourvu d'un émetteur ERT destiné à l'émission d'un signal se rapportant à la consommation de ces utilités. L'émetteur ERT est disposé à l'intérieur d'un boîtier ERT capable d'être traversé par des émissions radio HF. Un élément rayonnant passif, placé à l'extérieur du boîtier ERT, dispose d'un couplage capacitif en communication avec l'émetteur ERT et reçoit des signaux radio HF en provenance de l'émetteur ERT pour une transmission radio. Un élément rayonnant passif comporte un dispositif élément rayonnant, espacé par rapport à l'antenne ERT, disposant d'un couplage capacitif en communication avec l'antenne ERT de manière à renforcer la réception et l'émission de signaux radio HF par un émetteur/récepteur ERT. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant de renforcer l'émission et la réception de signaux radio HF, lesdits signaux se rapportant à l'usage qui est fait des utilisés. Ledit procédé consiste à: prendre un émetteur/récepteur; à disposer un élément rayonnant passif à proximité, mais physiquement séparé, de l'émetteur/récepteur; à réaliser un couplage capacitif de l'élément rayonnant passif à l'émetteur/récepteur; à recevoir et à émettre des signaux radio HF au moyen de l'émetteur/récepteur via l'élément rayonnant passif à couplage capacitif.
