A hand held passive remote programmer for a microprocessor controlled induction type Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader includes a housing containing an antenna (L1, C1), a plurality of dedicated integrated circuit RFID transponder tags (IC1-IC16) each having a unique tag code, and a keypad (22) having a plurality of keys each selectively operable for connecting a corresponding one of the transponder tag Ics to the antenna thereby to power the selected tag IC by induction in the radio frequency sensing field of a RFID reader and thereby enable the unique tag code of the selected tag IC to be read by the RFID reader via conductors (24, 26). Program instructions stored in the RFID reader recognize each unique tag code as representative of actuation of a particular key on the remote programmer keypad and not indicative of the presentation of an access key tag to the reader. Actuation of particular keys or key sequences on the programmer may be recognized by the RFID reader as program instructions for the reader's microprocessor.
L'invention concerne un programmateur portatif passif à distance pour un lecteur d'identification radiofréquence (RFID) du type à induction commandé par microprocesseur, ce programmateur comprenant un boîtier destiné à loger une antenne (L1, C1), plusieurs étiquettes répondeuses RFID à circuit intégré spécialisé (IC1-IC6), chacune de ces étiquettes étant pourvue d'un code d'étiquette unique, et un clavier (22) présentant une pluralité de touches pouvant être sélectivement actionnées pour raccorder l'un des circuits intégrés des étiquettes répondeuses à ladite antenne. On alimente ainsi par induction ce circuit intégré d'une étiquette dans le champ de détection radiofréquence d'un lecteur RFID, ce qui permet à ce dernier de lire le code d'étiquette du circuit intégré choisi, grâce à des conducteurs (24, 26). Des instructions de programme mémorisées dans ce lecteur RFID reconnaissent en outre chaque code d'étiquette unique comme représentatif de l'actionnement d'une touche particulière sur le clavier dudit programmateur à distance, chacun de ces codes n'indiquant pas pour autant une quelconque présentation d'une étiquette de touche directe permettant d'accéder au lecteur. Tout actionnement de touches particulières ou de plusieurs touches à la suite sur le programmateur peut donc être reconnu par ledit lecteur RFID comme des instructions de programme destinées au microprocesseur commandant ce lecteur.
