Abstract of the Disclosure A pillar disposed between adjuacent seats has one end of a seatbelt retractably fastened to it, the other end of the belt is fastened near the base of the pillar. A manually openable buckle connects a "D" ring on the belt to A second belt, rectractably fastened to the rear of the door. A second D ring connects the second belt to a retractor motor, in the dash, via a third belt. The motor is activated by opening and closing the door to move the belt to and from an occupant restraining position.
