A sidewall portion (16) for a plastic container (10) used to receive a commodity and to retain the commodity during high temperature pasteurization and after cooling. The plastic container (10) has an upper portion (12) defining an aperture sealed by a closure, a lower portion (14) forming a base, and a sidewall portion (16) unitarily connected with and extending between the upper portion (12) and the lower portion (14). The sidewall portion (16) includes panels (17) having a vacuum panel portion (20) unitarily formed in and inwardly recessed from the sidewall (16), and a pressure panel portion (18) unitarily formed with the vacuum panel portion (20). The pressure panel portion is movable from a first position to a second position during pasteurization thereby increasing the volume of the container and avoiding any significant deformation of the sidewalk portion (16). The panels (17) are movable from an increased volume position to a reduced volume position thereby decreasing the volume of the commodity in the container (10) and increasing apparent volume of the commodity in the container (10) upon cooling after high temperature pasteurization.
L'invention concerne une portion de paroi latérale (16), destinée à un contenant (10) en matière plastique utilisé pour recevoir une marchandise et retenir celle-ci pendant une pasteurisation à température élevée, ainsi qu'après refroidissement de cette marchandise. Ce contenant en matière plastique (10) présente une portion supérieure (12) définissant une ouverture scellée par une fermeture, une portion inférieure (14) formant une base ainsi qu'une portion de paroi latérale (16) solidaire de la portion supérieure (12) et s'étendant entre cette portion supérieure (12) et la portion inférieure (14). La portion de paroi latérale (16) comprend des panneaux (17) présentant une portion sous vide (20), formée monobloc dans la paroi latérale (16) et par évidement de celle-ci vers l'intérieur, ainsi qu'une portion sous pression (18) formée monobloc avec la portion sous vide (20). La portion de panneau sous pression est mobile entre une première et une seconde position, pendant la pasteurisation, augmentant ainsi le volume du contenant et évitant toute déformation importante de la portion de paroi latérale (16). Les panneaux (17) sont mobiles entre une position de volume accrue et une position de volume réduite, diminuant ainsi le volume de la marchandise présente dans le contenant (10) et augmentant le volume apparent de cette marchandise dans le contenant (10) lors du refroidissement de celle-ci, après sa pasteurisation à température élevée.
