An anaerobic process in accordance with the present invention includes the step of digesting an organic substrate in a first anaerobic reactor 8 to provide reactor contents comprising solids and liquid products of digestion. The process also includes a step of removing a portion of the reactor contents (2), and a step of pasteurizing (10, 11) all or part of the removed reactor contents by direct contact with a hot or inhibitory fluid to cause pathogen destruction. The fluid may be in a gaseous or liquid phase and the fluid may have inhibitory effects which causes the organisms to undergo lysis.
Un procédé anaérobie selon la présente invention comprend l'étape consistant à digérer un substrat organique dans un premier réacteur anaérobie (8) afin de fournir un contenu du réacteur contenant des solides et des produits liquides de digestion. Le procédé comprend également une étape consistant à extraire une partie du contenu (2) du réacteur, ainsi qu'une étape de pasteurisation (10, 11) de tout ou partie du contenu extrait du réacteur par contact direct avec un fluide chaud ou inhibiteur engendrant la destruction des agents pathogènes. Le fluide peut être en une phase gazeuse ou liquide et il peut avoir des effets inhibiteurs amenant les organismes à subir une lyse.
