ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A path indicating apparatus for indicating a path of movement for a vehicle is defined as an intersection line of two scanning planes, at least one of which is formed by a scanning signal of a sharply defined direc- tivity. The vehicle is provided with detectors for de- tecting the signal to detect deviation of the vehicle from the path. The signal is scanned along the path from a fixed position spaced from the path in a direction inter- secting the path.
