A system to control pathogens on a target element is disclosed, wherein the target element is subjected to hypochlorous acid. The present invention incorporates the use of hypochlorous acid as a pathogen control medium, wherein a hypochlorous acid stream of between about 4.3 and 7.0 pH as a pathogen reduction agent is utilized. In one embodiement, the hypochlorous acid stream is used to reduce pathogens in poultry processing plants.
L'invention concerne un système d'élimination de pathogènes sur un élément cible, l'élément cible étant soumis à l'acide hypochloreux. L'invention concerne aussi l'utilisation de cet acide hypochloreux en tant que moyen d'élimination de pathogènes, un flux d'acide hypochloreux au pH compris entre environ 4,3 et 7 étant utilisé en tant qu'agent de réduction de pathogènes. Dans l'un des modes de réalisation, le flux d'acide hypochloreux est utilisé en vue de réduire les pathogènes dans les abattoirs de volaille.
