A method of determining a person at risk of developing coronary artery disease includes detecting an alteration of at least one of an MEF2A gene, genes regulated by MEF2A transcription factor, or genes that regulate expression of MEF2A transcription factor of the patient. The alteration substantially reduces the transcription activity of the resulting MEF2A transcription factor.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de déterminer les personnes courant le risque de développer une maladie coronarienne consistant à détecter l'altération d'au moins un gène MEF2A, des gènes régulés par le facteur de transcription MEF2A, ou des gènes régulant l'expression du facteur de transcription MEF2A du patient. L'altération réduit sensiblement l'activité de transcription du facteur de transcription MEF2A obtenu.
