The basket is primarily meant for outdoor patio sets to allow one to display a flower arrangement with or without a patio umbrella that is able to withstand weathering, ie. strong wind. With a patio umbrella: A hole is made through the bottom of a wicker-type or plastic basket (commercially bought) - then through a layer of dense foam. Silk flowers, purchased separately, are inserted into the foam base and secured with hot glue. The arrangement is placed on the patio table and the patio umbrella inserted through the hole, thus anchoring it. Without a patio umbrella: The arrangement is constructed in the same manner except that a plastic tube (of optional size, purchased commercially) is glued into the hole and this tube then is inserted into the patio table hole. The plastic basket may also be manufactured commercially already housing the plastic tube. The arrangement is now able to remain outside for an entire summer season without risk of blowing away with wind and weather.
