The present invention provides an inexpensive and sensitive device and method for detecting and quantifying analytes present in a medium. The device comprises a metalized film upon which is printed a specific, predetermined pattern of an antibody-binding protein. Upon attachment of a target analyte to select areas of the plastic film upon which the protein is printed, diffraction of transmitted and/or reflected light occurs via the physical dimensions and defined, precise placement of the analyte. A diffraction image is produced which can be easily seen with the eye or, optionally, with a sensing device.
L'invention concerne un dispositif bon marché et sensible et un procédé de détection et de quantification d'analytes présents dans un milieu. Ledit dispositif comprend un film métallisé sur lequel est imprimé un motif prédéterminé spécifique de protéines fixant les anticorps. Lors de la fixation d'un analyte cible sur les zones sélectionnées du film plastique sur lequel la protéine est imprimée, on constate une diffraction de la lumière émise et/ou réfléchie en fonction des dimensions physiques et du placement précis et défini de l'analyte. Une image de diffraction facilement visible à l'oeil nu ou éventuellement au moyen d'un dispositif de détection, est produite.
