Solid, low-cost paving binder prepared by admixing sulfur, paving grade asphalt (AC) asphalt, and a siliceous filler such as fly ash and silica material, and solidifying the product into preferably flaked, pellet or pastille forms. The solid paving binder has non-stick non-flow properties within a wide range of ambient temperatures, and it can be stored solid for subsequent use in paving applications.
L'invention concerne un liant de revêtement solide, peu coûteux que l'on prépare en ajoutant du soufre, en recouvrant de l'asphalte (AC) de ciment asphaltique et une charge siliceuse, telle que des cendres volantes et de la matière de silice, et en solidifiant le produit sous forme de pastilles ou de granules de préférence reconstituées. Le liant de revêtement solide présente des propriétés non collantes et exemptes d'écoulement à l'intérieur d'une large gamme de températures ambiantes, et on peut le stocker sous forme solide en vue d'un usage subséquent dans des applications de revêtement.
