Fragments of Fen1 that interact with PCNA are disclosed, together with the use of such fragments or mimetics of Fen1 in methods of screening for compounds useful in treating disorders in which PCNA is implicated. In particular, substances which have the property of binding to PCNA are disclosed, said substances comprising: (i) a fragment of the Fen1 protein containing a peptide of 89 amino acids from the C-terminal region or an active portion thereof; or, (ii) a fragment of the Fen1 protein containing the sequence motif QGRLDxFF; or, (iii) a functional mimetic of said protein fragments, where "x" is preferably the selected from the amino acids S, D or G.
L'invention concerne des fragments de Fen1 qui réagissent avec l'antigène nucléaire des cellules prolifératives, ainsi que l'utilisation de ces fragments de Fen1 ou de fragments simulant ces fragments de Fen1 pour une identification préliminaire de composés utiles pour traiter des troubles dans lesquels est impliqué l'antigène nucléaire des cellules prolifératives. Plus particulièrement, l'invention concerne des substances qui ont la propriété de se fixer sur cet antigène, ces substances étant constituées par (i) un fragment de la protéine Fen1 contenant un peptide de 89 acides aminés en partant de la région C-terminale ou une portion active de celui-ci; ou (ii) un fragment de la protéine Fen1 contenant la séquence QGRLDxFF, ou (iii) un fragment fonctionnel simulant lesdits fragments de protéine. "x" est choisi de préférence parmi les acides aminés S, D et G.
