ABSTRACT A pea-harvesting machine is disclosed comprising a forward axle assembly pivotally mounted about a longitudinal axis on a frame of the machine, a sub-frame pivotally mounted about a transverse axis on the axle, and a forwardly-mounted transverse frame carrying a pick-up reel of the harvester pivoted about a longitudinal axis to the said sub-frame. The machine also has ground-sensing wheels on the transverse frame and there are hydraulic cylinders supporting part of the weight of the sub-frame, the transverse frame and the pick-up reel responsive to the ground-sensing wheels.
