Abstract A pea-harvesting machine is disclosed comprising a pick-up reel for stripping pea pods from vines and for delivering removed pods rearwardly by generally rearwardly-operative conveying means to threshing means. Cover means has a portion which conforms to the outer periphery of the reel and forwardly-operative conveying means is disposed to receive peas from the threshing means and to convey the peas generally forwardly of the harvester considered as a whole towards the pick-up reel and to deliver the peas to a storage hopper disposed forwardly of the threshing means. Preferably, the machine includes an angularly-adjustable extension of the cover means con- forming to a portion of the periphery of the reel and retractable within a fixed part of the cover means.
