A peat winning method wherein peat sods (6) are produced from a frozen layer of peat. The peat sods (6) are cleaved out of a frozen layer of peat parallel to the varves (5) in the layer of peat at such a depth that the layer of peat is frozen on both sides of the cleaving line parallel to the varves.

Procédé d'extraction de tourbe, selon lequel des mottes (6) de tourbe sont produites à partir d'une couche de tourbe gelée. Les mottes (6) sont découpées dans une couche de tourbe gelée parallèlement aux varves (5) se trouvant dans ladite couche, et à une profondeur telle que la couche de tourbe demeure gelée des deux côtés de la ligne de découpage parallèle aux varves.
