ABSTRACT Anchoring device for a communication distribution pedestal closure having a subterranean base portion and a pedestal portion extending above ground. The device comprises a vertical hub over which the base portion of the closure is adapted to fit, and a rim projecting horizontally outwardly from the hub. The rim is adapted to be buried underground and thereby immobilized for resisting deflection of the pedestal portion and maintaining the hub and pedestal portion in substantially vertical orientation.
