ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A substantially U-shaped pedestal liner is provided for disposal between an associated pedestal leg and journal box of a railway pedestal truck. The liner is comprised of ultra high molecular weight polymeric material and has a reinforcing structure embedded in the polymeric material which serves as a matrix therefor and substantially completely surrounds the structure. The structure has openings therein for receiving the poly- meric material completely therethrough while enabling better embedment of the structure. In this way, the structure provides reinforcement while preventing cold flow of the polymeric material.
