The present invention relates to a peeling element (10, 11) having a rod-like shape and being attached to means for rotating the peeling element around a rotation axis (3) and comprising peeling means on an outer surface. To allow a product to be peeled in a single peeling device, on a first part (1) of said peeling element (10, 11) said outer surface comprises a rough scraping surface, and on a second part (2) of said peeling element (10, 11) at least one cutting means (4).
