A pellet-fired cooking apparatus (10) is provided. The cooking apparatus (10) may include an outer shell (21, 22) into which are mounted at least a fuel support member (50) and a food support member (40). Pellet fuel (100) may be placed on the fuel support member (50) and may be used to cook food placed on the food support member (40). The fuel support member (50) may have a construction that allows for controlled combustion of the pellet fuel (100), providing for desired cooking characteristics of the pellet fuel (100). Intake air for combustion may be provided to the pellet fuel (100) through one or more hollow supports (60) for the cooking apparatus (10). Image
