Pelton buckets generally have flat exit edges and are only leveled downward in the region of the cup base under certain circumstances. This flat shape naturally restricts the possibilities of optimizing the deflection of the jet in the Pelton bucket in terms of the efficiency of the Pelton turbine. The present invention discloses a special shape of a Pelton bucket which affords a substantial gain in efficiency.
